Financial Statement for Coaver Club Golf Society 2025.

Since the last AGM we have held 11 meetings.

Five of those meetings made a profit on the day.

Six of those meetings made a loss on the day.

Over the eleven meetings we made a profit of £145:00.

A contribution of £336:00 was paid out of funds towards the cost of The Exe Cup played at Dawlish Warren in September.

The average price per meeting in 2025 was     £39:00

The average price per meeting in 2026 will be £45:00

The average attendance per meeting in 2025 has been 23 per meeting.

My recommendation  for 2026 is to keep the membership and the cost per meeting at £25:00 and £40:00 respectively. 

If the attendance  in 2026 is roughly the same as 2025 I would expect the bank balance to reduce by approximately £1,000:00 by the year end, but we would still be left with a credit balance at the end of the year.

If any guest come to our meetings I would suggest they pay the cost of that meeting plus £5:00.

• Finances

  1. Statement  approved.

  2.  Agreed to keep the 2026 meeting cost for members at £40 and anticipate our bank balance will reduce by about £1,000 over the year.

  3. Agreed to keep annual membership fee at £25

  4. Guests will pay a minimum of £45 or the cost  that the club charges us plus £5. So this means the charge for guests will vary for each meeting.
     
     

• Membership

  1. Membership of the society shall continue to be limited to 30.
     
     

• Handicaps

Dave Haizelden (DH)  did not agree with our current handicap system where the Handicap Index is reset to the official World Handicapping System (WHS) for all members who have a WHS handicap on 1st January. For those who do not have a WHS handicap, their handicap stays at their last Society handicap as there is nothing else to go on to judge their current standard of play.
This went to a vote and it was agreed that we should reset handicaps to WHS. (22-1)

• Fines

Trevor proposed that part of the fines money should be withheld from the charities and used to subsidise club events.
Many people voiced their opinions that all fines should go to the charity and that members should fund their own away days etc. and not take money away from the charities who are in desperate need of the money.
This went to the vote and was carried that all fines money should go to the charity.

• Exe Cup

There was much discussion about the subsidy the society gives to the 12 players that participate in the Exe-cup, usually about £200 in total.
It was agreed that this is kept under review and decided with the treasurer's agreement on an ad-hoc basis when the Exe Cup is being organised
