In 2024 we held 10 meetings of which three made a profit on the day and seven made a loss on the day, but overall a £39.00 profit was made on the ten meetings.
A £225.00 contribution was made towards the cost of The Exe Cup from funds.
The cost per meeting in 2025 shows an increase per meeting on 2024, I feel that if we hold the membership fee of £25:00 per member, the monies raised from membership alone will cover any shortfall on our monthly meetings.
My recommendation is that we hold our membership at £25.00 and that the cost of each meeting for 2025 be held at £40.00 per meeting, which includes £1.00 per head for any two's and three bottles of wine per meeting for nearest the pin.

Agreed by majority:
Statement approved.
Agreed to keep the 2025 meeting cost at £40 (2 meetings will break even with the remaining running at a loss but as there is £1,700 surplus in the bank, the shortfall can be covered).
Agreed to keep annual membership fee at £25
For those that hold a World Handicapping System (WHS) Handicap Index, this will be the handicap used to start the 2025 season
It was suggested from the floor that those without a WHS handicap, their 2025 starting handicap will be estimated from the last 6 scores at Coaver events prior to January 2025 or their current handicap if played fewer than 6 competitions for the society.
Since the AGM, it was found that taking the average of the last 6 scores did not give a result comparable with the WHS. After some experimenting it was decided to take the best 5 scores out of the last 10 to be similar to the WHS (which is the best 8 out of the last 20).
Membership of the society shall be limited to 30.
The England Golf method of calculating the shots received changed in April 2024 to include COurse rating less par. As at this time we had already played 2 events, we continued to use the "slope rating only" method for the remainder of the year for consistency.
For the 2025 events the "course rating less par" method will be included (in addition to slope rating) so that a) the shots received will correspond to the boards on display at each club and b) make the Race to he Warren fairer so that more shots are awarded at "difficult" courses and fewer at "easier" courses.
Anyone wishing to use a buggy must state this when asking to play at a meeting and the Captain will book all buggies for everyone and decide who will share with whom in these buggies.
